Wk 21 Day 4
Psalm 62:1
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. (NIV)
FOR GOD alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation. (Amp)
1 I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.(NLT)
1Truly my soul waiteth upon God, from him cometh my salvation. (KJV)
- Rest and wait are synonymous in this passage among most common versions.
- Many times our souls are mostly troubled (mind, emotions, will).
- David went through a lot of troubles (literally) because he was king and many tried to kill him.
- He [David] acknowledges that though there may be lots of foes around him, it is only in God that he will find true rest.
- When we wait on God, we rest in Him.
- WAIT ON GOD; FIND REST IN HIM.
Sometimes my mind, will, & emotions run faster than my trust in God. Truly I ought to rest in Him; to wait on God esp at times when I don't have control over situations. When I rest in Him, I know I have peace because salvation (protection and deliverance over my "foes" - myself and others). I will have fun and enjoy waiting on God. I will rest in Him and entrust to Him all that I have in my soul.
:: Lord, thank you for reminding me that I can find rest in You. Please remove from me anything that is trying to rush through my soul that makes me "move around too much" and not rest. I pray that you will empower me in waiting on You. Sometimes it is really hard but I know that You will reward those who continually trust in You. I want to trust in You more than I ever have. I pray that you will guide my actions to be led by your Spirit and not trust my own mind, will, and emotions. I entrust to You all my cares for I know that You care for them more than I do. I really don't have to stress about things. Thank you! Only in You I can find rest as wait on You. In Jesus' name, amen.
