DO NOT BE AFRAID
Wk 21 Day 7

Luke 5:10b
Then Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch men.

What happened here?

• Jesus went with the [first disciples] to the sea.
• Jesus told them to cast the nets down.
• They [disciples] said they did it already but caught nothing.
  
• But they did it anyways because Jesus said so. >> This is a proof of complete trust in Jesus. When Jesus says, "do it", we do it. He knows what He's saying; trust Him.
  
• They caught a large amount of fish. >> Because Jesus knows what He's saying, He will show you - not to show off, but because He said He would - He proves His greatness that you may see it and praise Him.
  
• Simon recognized that Jesus was no ordinary man.
• They just witnessed a miracle.
• Jesus' words are powerful, all-knowing (knew where there were fish).
• Simon recognized that he was with the Almighty - Jesus!
  
• He [Simon] felt unworthy; recognized his filthiness.
  
• Jesus told him not to be afraid. >> Sometimes, when we see the miracles of God unfold in our lives, we tend to "not believe it" thus, end up in being afraid of what just happened. Yet, Jesus told the disciples NOT to be afraid. When God does a miracle in us, we must not be afraid to face it - reality of what God has done. Accept it with joy and gladness and praise God for what He has done.
  
• Jesus told them to now be fishers of men. >> Jesus asked them to use what they were good at [fishing; their means of living; what they know best to do] to now, bring people to Himself.

:: DON'T BE AFRAID - When God tells me something I have to do, I must be willing to see a miracle coming ahead and to not be afraid of it [the miracle]. I must NOT BE AFRAID when I'm seeing the miracle happen before my eyes. The miracle that God is going to do is to let me know that God is all-powerful. All I have to say is "YES, I will follow You!" Belle, DO NOT BE AFRAID.

// Lord, I do not fully understand what is coming ahead of me. When this miracle you have been talking about will happen, please remind me constantly to NOT BE AFRAID. Just like Simon, I am not worthy for anything you do for me, yet I know you do it because you want your glory to be shown. And with that, I am satisfied.. I will praise You for it. Help me to just trust in You right now though I do not understand. Please help me to be faithful to where you have called me and to where you want to lead me next.
