ROOTED
Wk 12 Day 7
Mark 4:17
But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.
I remember in 2003 when I was really "on fire" for God. I just read PDL for the first time and it really helped to see things in a more clear perspective. I fell away from God also in the same year . Why? Mark 4:17 tells me that I may have heard the Word, received it with joy but I have not yet rooted, thus I only lasted a short time. The key to a fruitful Christian life is to always till the soil to a good ground, ready to receive, take root and grow.
For right now, I know I am still growing my root deep within me through my daily devotions, time with God in prayer and the reading of His Word, fellowship with believers and sharing what I have learned. I will continue so. The only way I will not be pulled out right away is when my root are dug so deep within and still growing. How can I do that? Hear, listen, and do.
With all the problems and trials that I may be going through at the moment, I know that I will not be moved as long as I am rooted in Christ.
Lord, thank you for reminding me the importance of taking root in You. I pray that you will continually guide me and give me the motivation to always seek you and to always know what Your will is. I only want to know You more and what you have in-store for me. You have been the same and I thank you for that. You are so faithful to me and I know that you are still working in me as I continue to take root in You. I offer to You my life and I will seek You even more. In Jesus' name, amen.
