Wk 13 Day 2
Genesis 48:17-19
17 When Joseph saw his father placing his right hand on Ephraim's head he was displeased; so he took hold of his father's hand to move it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head. 18 Joseph said to him, "No, my father, this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head."
19 But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know. He too will become a people, and he too will become great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a group of nations."
As human beings, we always expect things to go as they should - the usual, the norm, what's common. Yet, we know that, yes God can make things go as they should, as we expect, however, we also know that God can turn things around and do things that are unexpected. When this happens, we must be ready for it. Joseph was trying to "correct" Jacob when he was blessing Joseph's children - Ephraim and Manasseh. Ephraim was the younger one but was blessed by the right hand (possibly, with a "higher class" when it comes to blessings) while Manasseh with his left hand (possibly, a weaker side). God has his ways of doing things. For us, let us not correct what God is going to do in us that may be out-of-the-ordinary. Be prepared for it and trust that God knows what He is doing.I know God is going to do something "CRAZY!" Something that I least expect, something that will be out-of-the-ordinary. I will not "correct" God's hand when things seem to go opposite of what was supposed to be expected. I must be ready to accept and trust that God has things planned out in my life and that I cannot dictate what extraordinary things and out-of-the-norm things God is going to do. For now, I will prepare and be ready for what's coming ahead. I will be faithful in serving Him and expect that the things God is going to do is always what's best.
Thank you Lord for the assurance that you have a master plan for my life. Forgive me for sometimes making things go as they should "normally". I pray that you will help me to trust you at all times especially with the things that may seem to have gone "wrong". You have a purpose for everything and I will be open to your leading. Thank you Lord, in Jesus' name, amen.
