KNOW GOD, MORE TRUST
Wk 14 Day 4
Psalm 39:7; 40:8
7 "But now, Lord, what do I look for?
My hope is in you.
8 I desire to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart."
With all the things going on around in our lives - the happy and sad times, we know that it is only in God that we can truly find hope. There's no one else who can give us assurance in life - only through and to the Lord. May our prayer be like David - to desire to do His will and to keep His law within our heart.
Sometimes, I still try to do things my way - that is not what it means to put my hope in the Lord. To put my hope is to not worry about what's happening but to leave it all to God no matter what seems to be "out of order" or when I don't really know what's going on. I admit that I try to control things and I shouldn't be that way. I need to just stay happy in God - to put my hope in Him knowing that He sees everything. Psalm 40:4 reminds me that the man who puts his trust in the Lord is blessed. That is what I need to be. I've learned what it means to trust, I now need to put it into action, again. That I don't need to do anything in order to get situations "in order" or "clear". God will make it clear to me in His own time. I want to continuously desire to do God's will in my life. I will rid my mind of what will try to make me control situations again. To trust in silence that God is orchestrating things in my life to get things in its proper place and order in its own time.
Trust and hope in God = not controlling things
Desiring to do the will of God = constantly filling the mind with Him; His word and thoughts of Him.
How much we know of God determines how much trust we put in Him.
Lord, forgive me for many times trying to control the situations in my life. I pray that you will help me to desire more of YOU that I will trust in you more as I know you more. Please give me joy in my heart to do Your will and to not linger on the situations that I may seem to control. Help me to let go and let you do the work. I want to know you more because you are worthy. I want to know you more so I can trust you more with everything of me. Help me not worry about things when they seem to get "out of order". Help me to trust that You have everything under control. Thank you because I know you will always fulfill your promises. You are faithful. In Jesus' name, amen.
