Wk 14 Day 5
Job 28:12-13; 18, 23, 28
12 "But where can wisdom be found?
Where does understanding dwell?
13 Man does not comprehend its worth;
it cannot be found in the land of the living.
18 Coral and jasper are not worthy of mention;
the price of wisdom is beyond rubies.
23 God understands the way to it
and he alone knows where it dwells,
28 And he said to man,
'The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom,
and to shun evil is understanding.' "
WISDOM
- only God knows where it is
- priceless
- man can't comprehend its worth
- it's not found with the living
- fear of the Lord
UNDERSTANDING
- to shun evil
God is wisdom Himself. I really cannot comprehend this. I just have to know that God is wisdom and for me to experience wisdom is to fear Him. To understand it, I must shun evil. Enough said.
Whenever evil comes lurking at my door - in my mind and my heart, I must shun it quickly. For it is then I will know if I've truly gained understanding.
To shun means - to keep away from (a place, person, object, etc.), from motives of dislike, caution, etc.; take pains to avoid.
There are things that I really need to keep away from so I can embrace wisdom and understanding and so others can also embrace it the same way I desire it. Find ways on how I can stay away from them. Even if it takes for it to be painful to avoid.
Lord, please help me. I want to be able to shun evil quickly - esp those that come to my mind and my heart. I pray that you will empower me to be able to overcome thoughts that have been plaguing my mind lately. Give me power to overcome. I believe you have already given strength and power. I lift everything up to You in Jesus' name, amen.
