GROWING PAINS
Wk 2 Day 5

Job 4:4-6

4 Your words have supported those who stumbled;
you have strengthened faltering knees.

5 But now trouble comes to you, and you are discouraged;
it strikes you, and you are dismayed.

6 Should not your piety be your confidence
and your blameless ways your hope?

My problems are not even half what Job experienced. Yet, sometimes I feel that I am discouraged for not doing my best at one of the schools I'm teaching at. This is indeed some trouble because this is out of my "reach" on my own. Yet I believe this passage is reminding me how I have already made an impact in their lives (my students) by teaching them great things about music and life. That should give me more motivation to teach them more. As what I have read earlier from Meyer, these troubles are my sandpapers because I need to experience this so I can be better and be smoother the next time around. Therefore...

I must counteract my discouragement by keeping myself encouraged - looking forward to what's coming ahead for them no matter how they treat me, how they mock me, how they disrespect me, etc. I will continue to be a testimony to them no matter what happens. Be faithful in my job assignments and responsibilities. I must look at this experience as my "growing pains". Without pains, I wouldn't have grown faster.. I need to seek counsel and advice through books, mentors and others on how I can be better in this area.

Definitely, God is placing me at a place where I am least comfortable so I can depend on His power more! Praise God.

Lord, I will depend on You in everything. I entrust to You all my cares regarding my situation with my students. Please help me go through these "growing pains". I trust that You are going to turn out everything according to how you originally planned things. In Jesus' name, amen.
