JUST LIKE HIM.

Philippians 2:3-5

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Of course, I just have to read this passage today. I have been feeling a little "hostile" about things and my pride is really creeping up. I guess, it's now I'm getting my warning through a Wordly rebuke. Praise God. As a believer, I always ought to "suck it in". When there are times I don't feel like being nice to people, I must remember What Would Jesus Do? I ought to lower myself down, even if it means to swallow things and to let it be known that "I am right!". Even at times when we really think we are right, it's either we are really wrong or just trust that the other party will "get it" through God's divine intervention. This could not be far from the truth. God will always do everything possible to make it known who is right in a given situation. Stay humble. Swallow the pride. Be interested in others' affairs.

Boy! I really do need to "suck it in". Right now, I know I have some things that I am feeling selfish about. Thinking only of my own interests. Even if I'm right, I must still trust God's divine intervention. I will do my part to stay humble, to stay interested in others (what they say, what they feel, and what they have in mind), and to be just like Jesus. I can't imagine how much Jesus took in all the hardships that humans brought to Him. I must be JUST LIKE HIM!

Oh Lord, you know my heart. Search me and remove from me any wickedness because I am Your child. Nothing of that negative thinking or any antagonistic attitude should overwhelm me. Help me to dwell in Your Spirit - through Your Word, my conversations with You every moment, through songs, etc. I pray that You will keep Jesus be worn as my clothing today and everyday. Thank you for sustaining me and rebuking me through Your living Word. Guide me today Oh Lord. In every action, word, and thought. Jesus I live for You alone. In Your name, amen.
