Genesis 18:9-10; 13
9 “Where is Sarah, your wife?” the visitors asked. 10 Then one of them said, “I will return to you about this time next year, and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!” 13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’
Isn't it amazing to see the transition of the persons mentioned in this passage? From visitors, to one of them, to being the Lord Himself. This passage, which I've read so many times, tells me different things each time (not meaning different things, but different lessons in the same context). The Lord is able to reveal Himself to us however He wants to. He could look like an angel, a bum, a "normal" person, or any thing He wants to be. The personification of God is Christ Himself. Was it Jesus who revealed to Abraham? You bet. It's Theophany - Christ appearing before He was actually "born" to the world. Amazing.
The lesson is: God can show Himself to us however He pleases. We must be able to know who we are actually dealing with most of the time. He can speak to us in many different ways. We just need to be open to His manifestations. It could just be the wind or an actual person talking to us. Be open to God and how He wants to speak to us. Always seeking and not limiting how He can speak to us or minister to us. He wants to do great wonders through us; do miracles through us (just like Sarah giving birth at her old age!), and show off to people His power.
I will be open to however God wants to speak to me. I must be willing to see God however He wants to. I need to be sensitive on how He wants to show Himself to me. I will be open and ready for it by having a seeking attitude and seeking mindset that "it could be God" talking to me through a person, a song, circumstances, etc.
Lord, thank You that You are just soooo amazing. Forgiving me sometimes doubting you (just like Sarah did) when at times I know I feel like I can't do it. Thank you that you are able to speak to me in so many ways. I pray that keep my heart open to You and the manifestations you want to do in my life. Thank you for Your love, Your power, Your greatness. I worship You for who YOU are! My Lord and My God, that is YOU, Jesus. In Your name, Amen.
