MOSES.
Exodus 33:14; 19a
14And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
19And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee;
It's amazing to see how Moses was hurrying God to tell him whom God will send with him (Moses). He was in a position wherein he was making sure that God would reveal His ways to him clearly - tangibly. Yet, if you notice God's answer to Moses "My presence shall go with thee, and I will give the rest." That could've been a very unclear answer to Moses. Yet, we see that Moses didn't complain. Instead, he made sure that God was really following him. Moses was very confident to "demand" to God because he was walking in His ways. Because of this, God assured Moses that His goodness will be evident; will pass before thee; will pass in front of you; and will make His name known, Yahweh, the Almighty God!
What principles do we see here?
1. God will grant favor to those who are walking in line with God.
2. We can "demand" from God when we are sure of our standing in our relationship with God.
3. God may not always explicitly reveal his will to us so we can be keen to see His move in our lives; so God can show His goodness pass before us; so God can make His name known by what He's about to do.
I need to be consistent with my walk with God. I know I have been, on a daily basis and I praise God for what He's doing in my life. With His strength, I am able to walk so strong with Him. However, I need to be really sure of my standing with God. Yes, I am sure of my salvation. Yet, because of the evil desires that still spring up once-in-a-while in my heart, I am not too confident that I can be as "demanding" as Moses was with God. Therefore, I must continue to walk with God, seeking His face, knowing more of Him, loving Him. With all these things that I am praying to God, I know He will reveal His will in my life. He will give me rest because He will be with me all the way through my journey everyday. I am eager to see God's goodness pass in front of me and to see His name made known for who He really is!
Lord, wow, it's amazing to know that you have so much more than I already know. Please help me to be consistent in seeking you; not taking a break or "lay-lowing" in knowing the plans that you have for my life. I know you have everything in proper control and I know your hand will guide me every step of the way. I want to see your glory pass by... even if I could only see your back, I am satisfied with that. Please make me feel your guidance in my life; that you are walking with me, holding me by the hand. Please give me peace in my heart to continually wait for your will to unfold so clearly. Clothe me with your garment, through the Spirit of Christ that dwells in me. I will walk with you and I will let you move me to a place where I can, one day, see you face to face! :) I love you, Lord. Thank you for your love for me. In Jesus' name, amen.
