No Comparison.
Proverbs 31:29
Many women do noble things but you surpass them all.
The description given in Proverbs 31 of what a woman should be is far greater than what the movies represent to the public. She is considered "worth far more than rubies; clothed with strength and dignity; speaks with wisdom; faithful instruction is on her tongue; etc". There are a lot of women who do noble things- things that may seem to be of great value also. However, the Proverbs 31 woman "surpasses" them all. She cannot be compared to anyone. She is one of a kind. She is the IT. Where can you find one such as her?
*sigh* With God's help, I know I can be just like her. I want to be able to not only do noble things but to "surpass" the noble things I may do. I will not allow the things of this world to "shape" my thinking of what a woman ought to be. It's not about how I look or how I act (that's way different than most girls), but rather what is deep inside of me that is worth praising (on an earthly level). I want to be able to have "no comparison" to, because I am made special in God's eyes. I need to constantly convince myself that it's not the world that will shape me to be who I should be as a woman, but rather, I remind myself and allow God's Word to shape who I ought to be - a woman who fears the Lord. I will be an example; I will not let the world control they way I conduct myself; I will praise God for who he has created me to be.
Lord, please remove from me anything that does not go with your standards of what a woman should be. Help me to "surpass" the noble things that women in the world do. I want to be able to set an example of what a woman of God should be. Use me and me help me to not feel "insecure" when many times my womanly actions are way differently than that of the world. Give me the "i don't care" attitude when it comes to that. I want to not care about what the world thinks about me, but help me to always care about what YOU think about me and who I am in YOU. In Jesus' name, amen.
