Work hard, work smart.
Proverbs 28:19 (NLT)
A hard worker has plenty of food,
but a person who chases fantasies ends up in poverty.
It has been proven that many people who work hard are blessed for what they do. At the same time, we know a lot of people who are working hard but still are striving to reach to their goal. As Christians, it is our duty that we work hard in all that we do. Not just chasing after the fantasies in life. It's good to dream, however, that dream will never come to reality if we don't work. I have experienced the joy of having "plenty" for working hard. Of course, that is not the main reason why I have received my "plenty" but because of God's grace - what He has given me to be able to accomplish things in life. The lesson that we need to remember is that, let not these "fantasies" linger in our heads alone. May we work up to what God has called us to be - working hard and not getting lazy. There are a lot of things to do in life and we can definitely reach up to that by allowing God to work in us when we don't feel like doing stuff. You'll be surprised at what God can do when we let Him refuel our strength day by day.
I admit that there are times that I get lazy in doing stuff for the better. I tend to put things off and wait until the last minute before I do them. This should not be. I know what it's like to work hard and what harvest I can reap from it. Yet, what sucks is that, I get carried away with my slight laziness - especially when I know it will eat up some time. I must be able to work hard and work smart on the things God has entrusted me to take care of. Even though it may seem like a lot of work, I will put in time - manage my time wisely, do careful planning, work at it immediately while I can, and just enjoy the blessings that God will pour out after. I know I don't earn the harvest by my hardwork, because I acknowledge that everything we do is still weighed by God's grace. Therefore, since I am called to be a hardworker, I must be so. I will be a good testimony to others by showing them what God can do when we allow Him to work hard through us. I can do all things through Christ.
Lord, I know there are a lot of things to do. Thank you for empowering me to work hard on the things I have to do. Thank you for the responsibilities that you have entrusted to me. I praise You because through these things that I have to do - responsibilities at home, ministries, work, personal life - I am being built to become more and more like Your Son Jesus. Taking on these responsibilities may be hard, yet, let your joy just flow through me. That I may enjoy every single bit of what I am doing - whether big or small. Thank you Lord for everything. Help me to work harder than what I do now. All these I lift up to You, in Jesus' name amen.
