Serve.

Psalm 71:18
Now that I am old and gray,
do not abandon me, O God.
Let me proclaim your power to this new generation,
your mighty miracles to all who come after me.

The Psalmist (most likely David - he played the harp!), was basically offering a prayer to God. This is obvious that he wrote it in his old age. Yet, if you notice his passion to proclaim God never faded. Yes, he might have fallen earlier in his life. Yet, at this time when he wrote this Psalm, he was still full of desires and passion to share the Lord to the new generation. He was constantly thinking about how he can still serve God regardless his old age. What an encouragement to us, who are still young, to keep our fervor in serving the Lord. May not anything hinder us from truly proclaiming the power of God and what it can do to us when we allow Him to work in our lives. Despite all the situations that we face everyday, continue to get fired to serve GOD. Proclaim God's power to this new generation and show them the miracles that God can do.

I was just really thinking about this last night - how I ought to go back to my "first love" when I started serving God with the youth. I remember how passionate I was. I was "leaking" with all these things I want to do for them. Right now, I haven't been fueling that passion by constant development of my ideas and desires. The passion slightly subsided. I have plateaued in some areas. However, I have also improved new ways and developed new ways of dealing with things. Yet, there shouldn't be any excuse. I must continue to fire that passion by living out my testimony daily, spending time in knowing what God wants me to do to improve and grow more, develop new ideas and re-new ideas of the past to keep it alive again, and just get my feet back on track - but now, moving faster and smarter; learning from the past mistakes and making things happen way better than before - by God's grace and help of course! I can do this.

Lord, thank you for confirming what I have been having in mind since yesterday. It's awesome how you speak to me so clearly a lot of times. Please continue to open my mind to your truth, that when I read your word, it'll just speak straight to my spirit. Yes, I may think about it in my mind, process it and let it sink in... yet I know that you can also speak to my spirit anytime you want to. I am open to your leading. Please help me to serve you without any reservations, any hesitations or any distractions -whether it be myself or other people. You are awesome and I will serve you all the days of my life! In Jesus' name, amen.
