Prudent.

Proverbs 22:3a
A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge,

Prudent: (adj.) acting with or showing care and thought for the future.

How many times have I failed to see the danger of the actions that I take on a daily basis? How many times have we taken refuge when we knew there was danger coming ahead of us? A prudent man is someone who sees ahead, looking forward and foreseeing the future. He sees the danger of what comes ahead and right away, takes himself to a place where he can find refuge (noun: a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger or trouble).

There were many times where in I was able to find "refuge" when I saw danger coming ahead. I know that God is my refuge, no doubt. I need to learn that in times when I see "danger" in the way I conduct myself or other people towards me or situations around me, I must find that refuge so I can stay away from the "bad and dumb stuff" that comes ahead (or that comes after being "dumb"). I must always look forward to the future; beyond the now; and not catering to what I want and even the things, I think, I "need" right now. Instead, I must know where to find my refuge. Yes, I know it's in God, but I need to always look for practical ways on how I will be able to subdue or bring my actions under control. More than anything, be always willing to re-structure my thinking to constant God-thinking, not Belle-thinking.

:::Lord, you know what's in my heart. Please forgive me for not thinking ahead at times. When there are moments when I am so consumed by my own feelings and thoughts, help me find ways on how I can "derail" my selfishness back to your path. I know I am stronger than my weaknesses and I will fight it. Even when my inward voice tells me not to do stuff, I am annoyed that I still do otherwise. I need your strength. Please give me the ability to always be thinking ahead, not thinking of how I can "help myself" now. Satisfy my inmost needs with your amazing love. In you I put my trust. You are my refuge! Thank you. I lift this to you in Jesus' name, Amen.
