Life Manual
Jeremiah 36:2-3
2 “Get a scroll, and write down all my messages against Israel, Judah, and the other nations. Begin with the first message back in the days of Josiah, and write down every message, right up to the present time. 3 Perhaps the people of Judah will repent when they hear again all the terrible things I have planned for them. Then I will be able to forgive their sins and wrongdoings.”
What's cool about the Bible is that it is our Owner's Manual. It tells us exactly what we can be and what we can have in Christ. As I thinking of my new cellphone, I thought of reading through the manual so I can find all the cool stuff it comes with. Then I came to realize that that's exactly how the Bible works as well. It tells us what "cool stuff" comes with life. In line with Jeremiah, the writings on the scroll basically reminds us of the things we ought to become and ought to do so God doesn't have to pout out His wrath on us. Praise God, because of Jesus Christ, His wrath is taken away from us. Yet, through the Bible we constantly get reminded of what we need to be so we can stay out of God's wrath. Being in Christ means security and life that is full. May we not neglect the "cool stuff" the Bible can give us; guiding us through life and giving us the ability to become better and better each time. The Bible can reveal a lot of "hidden" things that we don't know. As we read the Manual more and more, the more we know what "features" we have when God first thought about us and created us.
I will take everything the Bible says as revelation of who I ought to become and at the same time a warning so I will stay on track with God. I will do everything to NOT miss a day without spending time with God's Word.
Lord, thank you for this reminder. Forgive me for not giving a lot more time in spending time reading Your word and in prayer. I miss those times and I want to get back on track as how it used to be (and even better!). Lord, please help me organize my time wisely that I may be more efficient in doing my job, my family time and Julia, my ministries and most importantly my relationship with you! Help me to be faithful always. In Jesus name, Amen! :)
