Joshua 9:24-26
24 They replied, “We did it because we—your servants—were clearly told that the Lord your God commanded his servant Moses to give you this entire land and to destroy all the people living in it. So we feared greatly for our lives because of you. That is why we have done this. 25 Now we are at your mercy—do to us whatever you think is right.”26 So Joshua did not allow the people of Israel to kill them.

Joshua had all the right to do something against the Gibeonites but Joshua had compassion on them. Many times when someone has done something against us, it is easy to just punish them for what they have done without looking intently at why they had done such thing. Although in reality, the Gibeonites deserved a harsher punishment, Joshua applied the principle of equity when he knew the main reason why they had lied to him. In the same way, let us examine why people do things against us and always abound compassion when making decisions. Always see the other side and don't be too prideful when we know we have the power to do whatever we want for what they have done against us. See the other side (their reasoning) then make a decision without being "too nice" and not having them experience the consequence as well. Let them know that you care about them and act with Joshua's principle of equity.

I will not act upon impulse but rather on good and Godly reasoning so I can be an example to those who have wronged me. I will also want to be treated the same way, thus, I would act righteously if things like this would happen.

Lord, please may you surround your presence in my life. Help me to not act according to what I feel but to how You would want me to react. Please guide me and make me a testimony to everyone around me today and the days to come. In Your name Jesus, Amen!
