Exodus 12:31-32;37
During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the LORD as you have requested. 32 Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me." 37 The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Succoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children.
This is the big thing that God had called Moses to do. With all the plagues that happened in Egypt, Pharaoh never softened his heart until the last one - the plague of the first born. Regardless of Moses' incapability excuse, God's will prevailed in the life of Moses. Moses overcame his incapability by trusting the Lord. He accepted the call. He did things that he thought he couldn't do. And now, he's leading the Israelites out of Egypt, "600,000 men on foot besides women and children!" Now that's a lot! Maybe one of the big things God is calling us is to lead this many people out of their own "Egypt!" There are still those who are stuck in slavery and they think that they have no way out so they just stay there and have no hope. If Moses didn't respond to this call; if he kept giving incapability excuses, 600,000 men (excluding women and children) would've been in slavery still. But because Moses responded, they were freed!
This gives me a lot of joy to know that God is going to use me to bring this huge amount of people out of slavery and bondage! I know that there are a lot of people who need Christ and I need to take this step of faith to be used by Him even more than what I am already doing for Christ. What I am doing for Him is not enough yet... there's a lot more work to be done in the Kingdom of God. I will take those people out of their bondages by responding to the call of God in my life. However I may serve God to take these people out of their bondages, I will do it! Nothing will stop me!
Yes Lord, I now know that this is what you want me to do. You are going to use me to bring this much people out of their "Egypt". Please guide me. I know that as you have guided Moses' lips to speak your command to them, I will have the same power as that of Moses. Holy Spirit, may your peace rest on me. Now I know that it is not what I thought the "big thing" was. Only through your Word I find peace. Only through You that I find hope and motivation to do better in what I am doing for right now. Please Holy Spirit, fill me with your strength that I may do the impossible! In Your name Jesus, Amen!
