Wk 20 Day 7
Luke 4:7
So if you worship me, it will all be yours. -Satan
Many times Satan tries to tempt us to worship him by telling us that it will "all" be ours.
How are we similar to this?
- When we think that "we can do this to get something", that is a type of manipulation that the enemy does.
- When we think that we are able to get something because of what we "can do" with our own strength - that is a manipulative act of the enemy as well.
- V. 8 says "Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him ONLY." (Emphasis added)
So...
- When we have the attitude of manipulating other people so we can get what we want out of them, we must remember that we are serving God - not ourselves! Thus, the act of manipulation is of the enemy.
- Manipulation is not of God! Flee from it and don't allow anything to make you make other people do something to get what we want for ourselves.
- Remember that we are serving God ALONE and not ourselves nor other people.
- We must do everything for the GLORY OF GOD - to bring people to know Him by what we say, think, and do.
:: I will always remember that it is God that I serve - not myself nor other people. In everything that I do, I must know that it is all for the glory of God. If anything that I do does not bring glory to Him, I must immediately stop and do something to counteract it. I must not allow myself to serve Satan by making others do something to get glory to myself or to satisfy my selfish wants and desires (manipulation). I have power in Jesus and I take authority through the name of Jesus who gives me the ability to overcome the powers of the enemy!
// Oh God, You are amazing. Thank you Jesus for your great example of fleeing from the temptation of Satan's manipulation to lust over the things of this world. I pray that you will continue to help me rely on your power esp during the times when I think I am able to make things happen through my own strength. Help me to bring glory to Your name with everything that I do. May you be exalted and glorified in my life. In Jesus' name, amen.
