HOPE
Wk 23 Day 6

Lamentations 3:31-33

31For the Lord will not cast off forever!

32But though He causes grief, yet will He be moved to compassion according to the multitude of His loving-kindness and tender mercy.

33For He does not willingly and from His heart afflict or grieve the children of men.

Jeremiah was in complete trust that no matter what was happening in Jerusalem at this time, He still looks to God - the all loving and all merciful God. When at times when we feel that there's no hope, we need to look to God. He will not cast us off forever - He has great plans for us. He doesn't want us to be afflicted nor grieved because He wants us to be joyful. However, there are times that we do experience these things. Yet when we do, we must remember that it is only temporary. God wants us to look to Him in times of grief and sadness. We must remember that great is His unfailing love. He will not leave us alone. He will show His compassion because He is the source of it. Never lose hope though things may sometimes seem hopeless. Hang on to God - who is hope Himself.

This reminds me of the times when I was in obscure sadness - not knowing why I felt that way. Yet, I believe that God didn't want me to stay in the situation. He always wants me to look to Him when times doesn't seem so hopeful. This tells me that God's mercy and grace to the hopeless abounds so greatly. He is a compassionate God and will look to our distress and give us comfort.

I am not hopeful; I must be meeting someone today who is; Or someone reading this may be hopeless. I must be that instrument to remind them of who God really is - the source of hope. That He will not cast us off forever. His plans will still unfold. I must be that instrument to let them know that God's compassion is big enough to see our hopelessness. He is the source of hope. We must look to Him [Yahweh].

:: Oh Lord, great is is Word. I pray that you will use me to bring hope to the hopeless. I pray that you will also remind me when times don't seem so hopeful in my life; in certain aspects of it. I pray that you will help me to always tap on to Your power. Let hope come down when things seem so hopeless. Use me to bring hope to others through Your power and Your Word. May I make this continually real in my life. In Jesus' name, amen.
