Wk 19 Day 2
Exodus 23:30
30Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and are numerous enough to take possession of the land.
When God was leading the Israelites to the Promised Land, lots of things have happened. At this time, God sends an angel to prayer the way for them. God made His promises and told them what He was about to do. A few things were sure:
- God was bringing them to the promised land.
- God knew what they needed in order to be ready to take possession of the land.
- God knew when the right time was for them.
- It was a test of their faith and patience to slowly get to the promised land.
- "Little by little" means it will take some time.
- "until you have increased and are numerous enough" means that until then, they wont be ready yet to take possession of the promised land.
Whichever promised land God is taking me to, I believe He knows when the right time for me to get there; for me to take possession of it. Right now, I believe God is slowly just molding things in my life, getting rid of the things that are "in the way" of things on my way to the promised land, and He's getting me ready to reach to my final destination. What is it? Or is it, who is it? Or where is it? It remains a mystery to me. However, a few things are true...
- The Israelites didn't really know how the Promised land looked like either.
- They only know that it's a land flowing with milk and honey.
- A destination where God has blessed and a place where He will dwell.
Oh Lord, how awesome is Your Word. Though it was "written" a long time ago, it still remains the same; it speaks to me so clearly that I know though this story may talk about the Israelites who lived way before in time, yet You never fail to use things as examples that we may be able to learn from it. Please help me as I prep my way through the promised land. Thank you in advance and I praise You because I know you will always keep your promises. Thank you Lord, in Jesus' name, amen.
