THOSE UNDER YOU
Wk 11 Day 3
1 Samuel 3:13
13 For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons made themselves contemptible, and he failed to restrain them.
We are responsible for the people under our care. When we know that they are doing something wrong, we must be able and have the "guts" to restrain them. We know that God's punishment is severe and as the overseers, God has given us the "power" to restrain them. We must use it and not allow our "power" for them to suffer for not doing our job. Do the best that we can in having them do what is right - restraining them if necessary in order for them not to experience the wrath of God.
I need to be more proactive in my leadership towards those who are under my "authority". I need to be more keen and not be lenient when it comes to their sins and shortcomings. Just as Christ is strict with sin, I must be also. Not to judge or anything, that's not my job to judge, but rather to just guide them in where they should go. I need to be straight-forward, honest, and loving at the same time.
Lord, please give me wisdom on what I need to do when it comes to restraining those who are under my "authority". Please help me discern on what to say and what to do that I may be of help to them. Please guide me always that my guidance will not be an offense to them that they will rebel and fall away, but rather, may it be a sign and a proof of my love and care for them. Thank you Lord for reminding me that I need to be tougher with the failures of those who I see that may be struggling. Please guide me Oh Lord, for I myself also needs to be guided thoroughly by you. Thank you Lord, In Jesus' name, amen.
