SERVANTHOOD
Wk 8 Day 7
Matthew 20:26-28
26Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Service is one thing that separates those who become leaders and those who "aren't cut" to be leaders. In anyway, may we never reach to a point where we don't serve anymore because we just give orders! How sad would that be. Even Jesus, our greatest leader, has served us when He was on earth. He has given us the example of what a leader should be - a servant.
What does this say to me?
When there's an opportunity to serve, serve - at home, in my ministries, with circle of friends, people, and everywhere else. I need to always keep a servant mindset - to be wise yet thinking about how I can serve and how I can be served.
Lord, thank you for reminding me about service. I pray that you will give me the heart of a servant in every area of my life. To not be trampled on by my services but to also be wise and lead by example on what it means to serve. Thank you Lord Jesus for your great example of servant leadership. May you give me a heart like yours. Guide me Oh Lord, in Jesus' name, amen.
