SERIOUS PROMISES.

Genesis 28:15, 20-22
15 I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."
20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear 21 so that I return safely to my father's house, then the LORD will be my God 22 and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God's house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth."
God is so real and serious about his promises in our lives. He will not allow anything to hinder his plan for us because they are the best. Although, many times, God's plan gets disturbed and distracted because of us who are hindering it through our disobedience, hard headedness, own selfish desires, etc. When God spoke to Jacob through a dream, God assured him that God was going to bless him tremendously and use him for his kingdom - blessing the descendants through Jacob.
What is this to me?
Whatever God has promised to me, I will not worry about anything anymore - how God would fulfill it or when God would fulfill it because His promises are real and serious. Again, I just need to continually trusting God and not getting in the way of God's promises for me. Until I have been given the sign to move elsewhere, I will stay where I am at.
Lord, thank you for your seriousness in your promises. Forgive me for the many times I have made broken commitments to you. Help me to just stay where I am at, to enjoy and have fun and to be faithful in everything that I do that will lift up your name. Please guide me and be with me that I will not sway away from your path in my life. Thank you in Jesus' name, amen.
