Job 19:4, 23-27
4 If it is true that I have gone astray,
my error remains my concern alone.
23 "Oh, that my words were recorded,
that they were written on a scroll,
24 that they were inscribed with an iron tool on lead,
or engraved in rock forever!
25 I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.
26 And after my skin has been destroyed,
yet in my flesh I will see God;
27 I myself will see him
with my own eyes—I, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!
JOB:
- Job's friends continually mocked him; blaming him that it's his sins that's caused him to suffer this way.
- Job remained strong in spite his sufferings.
- Job wished that his words would be recorded on a scroll (yes, it did.. we are now reading it). For what reason? I believe for us to see what it means to fully trust in God even when situations don't match with us having the full belief to do so.
- Job was still hopeful to see God; he still praised Him and have clear conscience that he has not done anything to deserve this suffering/"punishment."
GOD:
- God allowed this story to be recorded as how Job prayed and hoped.
- In the end of the book, we know that everything that happened to Job was just a major test of faith and trust in God.
- God never left Job; He didn't let him die; God gave Job enough strength to survive the hurts physically, emotionally and spiritually.
- God is able to do everything even if we don't see it.
We need to remember that God will never leave us alone. All the troubles we go through in life, God is right with us. Jesus is sympathizing with us. May we not give up on God with the experiences that we have. Instead, may the hardships we go through be a time for us to get closer to Him as Job was. Remember that God will give us the ability to sustain and the power to not dwell on what seems to be dark. Know that even if we don't what God sees ahead of us, when we learn to trust in Him, we have a bright future coming ahead of us.
WHAT IS THIS TO ME?
When I'm feeling "alone" inside of me, I must remember to look onto Jesus - who is there with me, sympathizing with my feelings and my heart. I need to trust God more than I SHOULD (got this when I praying). What does it mean to trust God for me? Even if I don't see evidences of what's leading to a good future, I need to trust that God has already seen it and will just put things together as how He wants them to unfold.
In my ministry, I need to be faithful and believe that God will give me the ability to do great things for His glory. I must marvel at HIM every single time. Every idea comes from Him (esp the great ones) and I must give honor and acknowledge his greatness for what He will do now and in the future.
TRUST GOD MORE THAN YOU SHOULD.
Lord, thank you because you always stay right with us. I pray that you will help me to not only trust when I see things coming... but even when things seem to be so hard to get through. I know that you already have seen everything and you will do everything to get us to the your plans. I pray that I will choose the plans you have for me. Keep my life away from the things that will pollute my mind to get distracted away from your paths. Please guide me Lord. I choose to follow you. I choose to live for you. Help me to TRUST YOU MORE THAN I SHOULD. In Jesus' name, amen.
