HOPE
Wk 7 Day 5

Job 13:15-16

15 Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him;
I will surely defend my ways to his face.

16 Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance,
for no godless man would dare come before him!

Job, even in his time of distress, still has put his trust and salvation in GOD. How many of us are able to do that? Everytime we get reminded about Job's story, we are encouraged that the trials and hardships we experience here is nothing compared to the gravity of his experience. Yet, he was able to trust in GOD. We see his true reliance on God because during tough times, he was still able to praise God and put his hope in Him.

How has our faith in God being tested? Are we surviving? Have be pitied on ourselves and eventually run out of trust in God?

For me, I may not have experienced Job's experience, yet I know that I have also been tried and tested in many other ways. During times like these, I must remember that God is still my salvation. No matter what God brings to my life, I could still trust him and believe that He will deliver me from anything that may seem to ruin my life. Like Job, I know hope is coming. I must remain godly. Because only godly people can come boldly before God. Yes, God is forgiving, yet if I remain godly, I know that I can be confident to come before the presence of God (although, it doesn't mean when we're being "sinners" that we can't come to God; we still can.)

WHAT DOES THIS PASSAGE REVEAL ABOUT GOD?

  • He is our hope
  • He could do whatever He wants to us
  • He listens to our plea

FACTS:

  • God can slay me but I can hope in Him
  • The godly can come confidently before Him
  • When a person is godly, we can stay positive even in times of tests and trials
Lord, thank you for reminding me of who you really are. Thank you that even at times when you seem silent, like during Job's trial, you remain who you are - listener, forgiver, deliverer, provider, etc. You have proven yourself from generations to generations and there's no reason why you wouldn't be faithful to us in our generation. I pray that you will help us to continually trust in You even in times when it seems uncertain. Thank you because you have guided us all the way to get here. I pray that we will continue to serve you and be faithful to where you have called us to be. I pray that you renew in me a new passion that will help start a new "dip" to a rising momentum in the ministry and the building of Your kingdom. Thank you Lord, in Jesus' name. I believe, so be it.
