PROMISES
(Wk 5 Day 3)
Joshua 23:14
14 "Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.
This was the time when Joshua was already well advanced in years and was encouraging the Israelites about how God's promises are yet to be fulfilled. He reminded them that God's promises are true and that if they haven't unfolded yet, they are still to come. God will never fail on what He has made covenant with us with. This gives us an assurance that God is alive and He cares about what we care about.
I believe that whatever God has promised to me: that He will provide for ALL my needs, He will come through. I need to continuously remind myself that all I have to do is to continue to remain faithful to Him. What does being faithful mean to me in a practical way? (1) Spending time with God (2) being on top of things in the family and ministry (3) continuing good relationships with the people around me (4) saying NO to the evil that may come luring in front of me and be willing to resist it, relying on GOD's supernatural power.
Lord, thank you that Your promises are YES and AMEN. Thank you for the assurance that you have yet to fulfill your promises in my life. For right now, I ask that You will help me to continually focus my attention on how I can remain faithful to You in all aspects of my life. I pray that you will empower me and give me the ability to walk in Your path even at times when it seems hard. I pray that you will give me the spiritual "will power" to be able to say NO to the lures of the enemy. Please give me strength oh God. In Jesus' name. Amen.
