LIKE A CHILD.
(Wk 5 Day 6)

Matthew 11:25-26
At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.

Jesus spoke in parables. Many didn't understand him even if they were intellectuals. The reason being is that, the Holy Spirit speaks to those who have an open heart and are willing receive the message that God has delivered through the messenger. Therefore, it is not necessarily (or at all) through intellect that we can understand God's hidden mysteries. We just need to be like little children - innocent to evil, ready to receive anything, ready to follow and obey. Let us be like children who are hungry to learn.

BIG IDEA:
Anyone can learn about the mysteries of God. They don't have to be smart or educated. When we are willing and have a heart like little children, we can know and experience the depths of God's love.

Yes, it's awesome to be smart, however, when it comes to God's Word and His words speaking to us, I must be willing to receive it without hesitation. I must be like a little child; eager and ready to learn; having a heart that's already shaped to receive God's blessings; always willing and obedient.

PRACTICAL:
Fearful of God's commands, rebukes, reminders and obedience to His callings in my life.

Lord, I want to be like a little child. Help me to not rationalize all these things in my mind. I pray that even if not all of things you tell me I understand, I pray that I will just learn to trust in You; and allow You to work things out the way you have planned it out. I pray that You will give me a heart that is like a little child - willing to learn and to be obedient to Your call. Thank you Lord for reminding me. I pray that I will be able to "suspend" my intellect when it comes to obeying You in my life. Thank You Jesus, in Your name, amen.
