SHOULDER.
(Sparkling Gems)
Galatians 6:2
Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
There are lots of times when we needed someone' s shoulder to cry on, lean on, or just someone to talk to. As Christians, we will experience difficulties, trials and persecutions. Our goal is to always be there for one another. When there are times that we need someone, we know that God always brings someone at our door to comfort us. In the same way, we ought to be that someone to another. Be giving with your time, effort, resources to help others who are burdened. In this way, we are not only helping them, we are also fulfilling the law of Christ. Hallelujah!
Yes, I admit that there are many times I am self-consumed to remember others' needs and how they might need my help. I ought to be more proactive in finding out how can I help them according to my means. As a follower of Christ, my job as His servant is to help others and be their "shoulders" when they need someone to lean on. I ought to be that person. When I think that I am mostly consumed about my own agenda, I must remember that there's a higher call, others' need of a shoulder; and that could be me. I will take action.
Oh Lord, thank you for teaching me how to be self-less. I pray that You clothe me with your grace that I may always be like Your Son Jesus, self-less yet confided with everything else in life. I pray that You will just empower me and give me strength and wisdom to be someone's shoulder today and the days to come. Thank You Lord, in Jesus' name amen.
