REFINING MOMENT.
(Sparkling Gems)

Colossians 2:6-7
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

God knows when we are ready to face the different phases of life. We see here that our encouragement is to get rooted and built up in God and to be strengthened in the faith so we will be able to stand the test of time. From the Sparkling Gem reading, it's awesome to know that God has His perfect timing. We sometimes end up getting impatient about the things to just come in our lives. God knows when we are ready.

The illustration I read was about a tree.

"During the life of that tree, it must endure the elements of every season - the heat, the cold, the sleet, the rain, and the snow - before it ever blossoms. Because those roots are deeply tapped into a continuous source of strength, nourishment, and energy, the tree is able to outlast all the seasons and eventually become a fruit-producing tree."

"Rather than complain that it's taking too long for your fruit-producing season to arrive, you need to thank God for this time in your life! Take this time to send your roots down deep and tap into the strength of God's Word and God's Spirit. If your roots are securely fixed in Jesus Christ, you will outlast every season, every foul climate, and every storm. Eventually you will enter into the finest fruit-producing season of you life, your ministry, your family, or your business."

Indeed, my call is to keep send my roots down deep into the Word of God where it can draw on a constant source of nourishment. I admit that there are times I am feeling impatient about the fruit-producing season of my life. Just like what I learned about the harvest, there will always be that wait time where I just can't force things to happen, or else it'll be immature (hilaw! haha). For right now, I ought to continue in growing in God - that when it's time, I will be able to withstand any obstacles that will come along the way. This is my refining moment.

Lord, thank you for reminding me about this truth. Help me to continually desire to grow deeper in You. Not only knowledge but most of all, in wisdom. That I may apply every knowledge you give and live out my life according to it. Please guide me and remove anything that will try to harass and make my fruit-producing season immature. I want to experience the fullness of Your blessings and I will do my best with Your help, to give me the ability to wait more and everyday of my life until your most perfect time comes for the fruit-producing season. Thank You Jesus, in Your name, amen.
