Wk 2 Day 7

Matthew 3:15-4:1

¹⁶As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. ¹⁷And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. ²After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. ³The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."


After Jesus was filled with the Spirit, Satan tempted him (yet He didn't get tempted). When we are on fire and filled with the HS, most of the time, the greatest temptations come. We need to be ready. Like Jesus, we need to keep the Word of God in our hearts and minds. Don't allow the enemy to lure you into his schemes. We are more than conquerors in Christ.

I will and must be prepared when great things happen with me with the HS. I know the enemy will work double-time, but I will guard myself up. I must be prepared at these things. Memorizing and meditating scriptures in my head.

Lord, please give me wisdom on how NOT to fall into any temptation. Please God, esp at times when I am weak, I pray that YOU will empower me to trust in You more. Guide me Oh Lord. And just lead my paths, my thoughts, my words, and everything. I lift this up to u. In Jesus' name, amen.

Matthew 4:18-22

The Calling of the First Disciples

¹⁸As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. ¹⁹"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." ²⁰At once they left their nets and followed him.

²¹Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, ²²and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
