GIVE PRAISE.
Job 1:12; 21b-22
The Lord said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but the on the man himself do not lay a finger."
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised."
In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrong doing.
Salute to Job for praising God in spite of everything he has gone through. Losing the most valuable people and things in life could be devastating. We have learned that we ought to praise God through thick and thin. Yet, how many of us still complain and get mad at God when we things like these happen to us?
A few things I noticed:
1. the Lord allowed Satan to take away everything Job had.
2. the Lord had His hand on Job, still (to the man, do not lay a finger) - God still has us under His protective wings. He may allow to remove everything from us, yet He will NOT allow us to be touched by the enemy (unless we, our free wills, allow him to). The enemy could touch everything in this world, but not us. God is on our side.
3. Job understood the meaning of true discipleship - to follow and live for God no matter what is happening in our lives. Because of that, He didn't sin. He made up his (Job) mind NOT to sin.
Is this a warning for me? For someone? No matter what comes my way, I must praise God. He is my firm foundation. In everything, I MUST GIVE PRAISE.
Lord, thank you that you have put me under your care. I pray that you will help me to always see your bright light. To not be carried away by the things of this world. Even if everything is taken from me, I pray that you will give me the courage the same as Job; the I will WORSHIP YOU STILL. Thank You Jesus. Prepare me for what's about to come. I will LIVE FOR YOU ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE! In Jesus' name, amen.
