CALLED.

Ephesians 4:11-13
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

For those who are called and who have the gifts to which God has entrusted, it is important that we remain faithful to our calling. Our responsibility is to equip GOD's people (disciple them and get them to stand "on their own") so they can do God's work to build up the body of Christ. Notice that this continues (v. 13) until we all reach unity in our faith. That will take a lifetime for all of us since we all have our own free wills to choose things whether or not we want to quicken or delay this day of unity. However, our call must be to be faithful to where and what we are called to do.

I believe God has called me to teach the Word of God to His people - young and old alike. I may also be teaching outside (music) but I know God gave me the desire to also teach His Word. With this, I must remain faithful to that calling. My goal is to equip God's people and teaching them the Word to help build up the church and their temples. I will be faithful in studying the Word, planning and being creative on how to present my lessons more effectively and productively. For starters, I must depend on God's power to enable me to do such things. Then, I must plan... take time to do it and organize my time to have my creative juices to flow on how to be more effective and productive.

Lord, thank you for reminding me on what I should be as your servant. Help me to be enabled to do these things as you have instructed me to do. Remove anything that will hinder and distract the great things you are going to do in my life. May everything that come along my way be a stepping stone to reach your ultimate goal in my life. In Jesus' name, amen.
