RELY NOT ON YOUR OWN.

1 Corinthians 1:8-9
8 We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters,a]">[a] about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. 9 In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.

There are many times when we think we're not able to endure the hardships that we go through from day to day. There are days when we think that it's just too much; things are overwhelming us. Sometimes we get so crushed that we think it's is truly beyond our ability to endure. However, we know that God knows everything. He will never give us anything beyond what we can bear. Just like the Apostle Paul said, we ought to stop relying on ourselves and learn to rely ONLY on God. He is the one who is able to give us the ability to go through the trials and difficulties that we run through in life. Jesus knows what it's like. He sympathizes with us and the best part is that He goes through it with us. Awesome? Truly.

It's true that there are times that I rely on my own strength and not remember that God is the one who gives me strength. I forget that I have God who will help me endure the "hardships" I go through daily. Whether it be little or big, I know that if I just rely on God, I will be able to endure and persevere. During the times when I think I can't do it, I must remember that Jesus is with me, going through the situation with me. I must learn to let go of myself and just fully rely on Jesus. I know I can trust Him - at all times. Rely not on myself because on my own, I do not have a solid ground. I need to just trust in Jesus - my firm foundation.

Lord, please remind me when at times I rely on my own strength. Please help me to not be so arrogant that I say to myself that "I can do it" because I know I can't. Take away the selfish confidence and give me the Godly confidence to face every trial and every hardship knowing that through you're power, I am able! Lord, forgive me for the times I relied on my own, thus caused me to fail on the tests that I have in life. I want to trust in You. Your amazing grace is too great for me. I can't contain it. But, I will keep receiving it in my life because it is only through You that I am able to go through anything. Thank you Lord and I will trust in you at all times. All this I lift up to you by the power of the Holy Spirit and in Jesus' name, amen.
