History Repeats Itself? NOT.
Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.
Isn't it funny how many people think that history actually repeats itself? This could be very true if a person is out of line of God's divine guidance. We know that those who repeats the same dumb stuff is a fool. This verse reminds us that as Christians, we are not bound to repeat the same folly we've made and done before. Romans 8:1 also reminds us that in Christ, there is therefore now no condemnation. We are free from the condemnation of God's wrath. Yet, the qualifier is, don't go back to your "folly".
I may have failed God so many times, yet I will not ever go back to where I used to be. In this journey, failure may have come along once (or more "un-obviously" on our own) but it will not repeat again. I will walk righteously before God and allow God to prove others that trusting God means having the strength to overcome our human foolishness. Praise God for his amazing power to transform and forgive us.
Lord, YOU ARE TRULY awesome! I thank you for your grace and the constant reminder that in You, there is liberty and freedom from getting ourselves in bondage again by our own foolishness. Please help me to live a life that will make you happy always. I want to only do what you want me to do. Remove from me anything that will bring me back to my own "vomit". I trust in You that your power will work in and through me! I love you Jesus, Amen! :)
