EVERY DETAIL.
Galatians 5:22-23; 25
But what happens when we live God's way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives.
Seriously, God never forsakes the righteous - those who continually follow God's will. When we live God's way, He takes care of our lives - brings gifts (things we love to have). Yet, since this is a choice that we have to make, it is important that we don't just let it stick in our heads (v. 25) but rather work it out and apply it in every detail of our lives. Praise God that He is always willing to change us. What detail do I need to work out so I can consistently live for God and following His way?
I need to always ask myself what God wants me to do - always thinking WWJD in my situation and how I can act just like Jesus would. I am excited for the "gifts" that God is going to bring in my life - people, things, ministry, etc. For now, I will get myself ready for these gifts by living for GOD in every single detail of my life. As small as deciding what to eat, for example, I must ask myself, "God, what do you want me to do?" to as big as lifetime decisions.
Lord, thank you for the assurance. You are so awesome and I can't wait to see your miracles at work. Help me to always live for your glory and not myself. Help me to contain myself in ways that "I can't". Use me and I need your power to work out every detail of my life to be in line with your amazing will. I love you Lord and I will live for you. In Jesus' name Amen!
