Romans 1:24a
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts...
I remember, Kuya Willy's greatest fear when he was away from the Lord was if he becomes numb to the Word of God. Praise God he came back and now is serving as one of our deacons at church for years! This is a scary thought to think that God actually just gives up on us when He knows that we will not give in to Him anyways after all the encouragements that we received and caring words from the Word and from people who love us. This could creep in slowly in the life of a person. Let us be aware of the qualities of those who just stray away from God. How does this apply to me? I can distinguish who I should invest my time with and who I should not waste my time with as well. What qualities are in the list?
29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
This is sad, but yet at the same time we want to be wise with who we deal with and who we give the "pearls" to. Always know that if we are concerned of these people, how much more God is?
Yes, I know I should be aware of who I invest my time with when it comes to ministering to people (especially the youth). Sometimes I get caught up with wanting to minister to a lot of people at the same time when some of them are actually just not cut for the change that God wants to do in their lives. Only God can help them and I will just pray for them. In the same way, I must invest my time on those who I know are going to be receptive and the ones who are willing to change! I myself must be aware of these characteristics to not slowly slip into my life as well.
Lord, thank you for your Word that is true. Help me to always be sensitive to your Spirit. Help me that I will hear Your voice constantly that I will know what I need to do in my life and in my ministries! You are a forgiving God and the God whom I serve! It's you I live for everyday... Amen
