Acts 18:5
When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.
Paul might have been doing all the work at the church in Corinth. He was probably spead out thinly to do the work of God well and effectively. But yet in this passage, you could see how much time he had EXCLUSIVELY doing one thing for Christ when Silas and Timothy came by to help. The ministry of Paul was successful (of course with the Holy Spirit) because of the help of Silas and Timothy who also dedicated their lives to the work of Christ. They must have taken most of the administrative work, helps, etc instead of Paul having to do all these plus preaching the Word. In the same way, know that there are people who are willing to help in the ministry to help our loads easier and lighter and devote our work to whatever God has exclusively called us to do. Who are these people?
Some are already on the way of helping the youth at FCF grow even bigger. I have a big responsibility with these young people and I know I need the Silas and Timothy of today to help make this ministry successful (of course through the anointing!). I need to let them, trust them, and know that I can do more exclusive things for God by having them handle things God has called them to do in the ministry as well. Characteristics to look for are ones like Silas and Timothy! Watch for potentials!
Lord, you are wonderful. Sometimes even if I have read this passage and have passed through it during my reading earlier, you speak to me mysteriously. Thank you for the reminder that I cannot do everything on my own. You have given me a license to let these Silas' and Timothy's to come with me to expand your Kingdom! I will not give in sharing the Gospel to people and I will get ready to expand your work through the help of these people. Please show me this specific exclusive work you want me to do. Prepare me for it so I can be effective - more effective! Thank you Jesus. Holy Spirit please guide me. Amen!
