Exodus 18:22-23

Have them serve as judges for the people at all times, but have them bring every difficult case to you; the simple cases they can decide themselves. That will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you. If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied."

As a leader, you like to get things right every time. You don't like for things to get messed up and you want things in order. God blesses our work thus, our work grows bigger and there's more things to do. What we can see in this passage is that, Moses being blessed by God with what he was doing for the Lord, did many things that were way too much for him for him to handle. Yes, he could've handled them but he would not be able to do other things that could've needed his help more! We need to be able to live out "delegation!" So many times we just want things to be done and not burden anyone by doing things on our own. But in fact, by delegating things to others, we help them grow by giving them the opportunity to step up and handle things they might not have handled before. After all, when we do this, we will be able to also do other things that we couldn't have done if we did everything by ourselves. Trust God that He will enable people to do the things you'd like accomplish. Moses' father-in-law said in verse 21 "But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.". There are probably those people who are already ready to serve who are now capable to take the task. Make use of them because God will bless us for blessing others.

I shouldn't get too overwhelmed when there are a lot of stuff that needs to be done for the ministry because I can delegate things to other people. So many times my excuse for not doing is because I don't want it to go the other way as planned. But I must have a change of mindset. I must be able to give other people the blessing of doing things that they are capable of doing. I dont want to take away the blessing that God has for them by doing all the work by myself. I also must not worry about how they would do it because God will just guide them and I will help them with what I have as well. God will work things out for the best. I will just trust Him!

Lord, thank you for this. It helps me see that ministry needs a lot of people to work together. Forgive me for not understanding "delegation" as I should have! Please help me as I choose people that will be able to handle and are willing to take care of these tasks that you have set for the ministry to grow. Use me to bless others!!! Thank you Jesus for everything and Holy Spirit you guide my thoughts to do the right thing and choose the right people. In Your name Jesus, Amen!
