GLORY
Wk 25 Day 4

Psalm 73:24

24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.

Asaph basically distinguishes his feelings when he IS in the presence of God and when he ISN'T. He mentions that he almost slipped (v. 2) for envying the prosperity of the arrogant and the wicked and how he was senseless and ignorant when his heart was grieved and his spirit was embittered (v. 21-22). Yet he also acknowledges that God is the one who guided him through - by the right hand (v. 23). And that God's counsel guides him that then takes him into glory. He then follows up with these verses:

25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
It's true, our flesh and our heart will fail - because we are human beings, yet God remains the strength of our heart and our portion forever if we allow Him.

:: How many times have I failed? C0untless. Yet I know that if I just allow God to work in me through His counsel, he will then take me into glory. What glory? The kind that only the God of heaven can fulfill (eternal life). I'll leave that up to God for the glory He will bring to me in this earth. Right now, I need to be faithful where I am at. Allowing the counsel of God to transform and conform me to the pattern of God's will for His glory!

Faithfulness >> Walking in God's counsel >> Glory of God

Lord, thank you for you remain who you are. I pray that you will help me to be sustained at all times so I may always be faithful to you. I pray that you will give me empowerment to continually renew the right spirit within me that in everything I will do, I will do it for the glory of Your name. Help me to be faithful to You. Just like the Parable of the Sower, help me to just be faithful in what I am called to do, and you will take care of the rest. Thank you God. You are truly powerful. In Jesus' name, amen.
