Wk 19 Day 6
Jeremiah 33:20-21
20 "This is what the LORD says: 'If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their appointed time, 21 then my covenant with David my servant—and my covenant with the Levites who are priests ministering before me—can be broken and David will no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne.
- This is how serious God is when He makes His covenant.
- It is as binding as the impossible things of this world - breaking the night or day (an impossibility that only God can do).
- He is all-powerful and true to His words.
What can we learn from this?
- Never take God's word lightly.
- God's promises for us are yes and amen.
- When God says He will provide, He will; or when He says I will make a miracle, He will.
- We must never doubt what God can do in our lives.
- Our lives must show the impossibility of our God that others may see how great of a God He really is.
:: I must not limit God for what He says. There are things in my life that I might have heard God say a certain thing that He will do. I am not doubting it, of course not, but I want to make sure that I am not making it up on my own and giving myself misleading messages. In this passage, it reminds me that when God says a certain thing, HE will do it. When He says that He will take me to the "promised land", He will. He will let me cross the Red Sea. Though I have to take the long route, I believe it's all because there will hurdles along the way that I have to avoid. It may take me a little longer, yet I know it's all because He cares for me enough that He wants me to stay on the safe side and honor Him with every single thing I encounter. When He says that I will get a great catch if I just do what Jesus says, I will get a great catch. He doesn't waver with His word. He is true. I must continue to live for His glory. Every single thing in my life must give glory to His name; to bring His name to elevation because He deserves it. Everything in me must glorify GOD! Alone.
Lord, please continue to speak to me and guide me in everything. Thank you for the assurance that when You say something, you will really do it. You are covenant-keeping God and I praise You for it. I pray that in everything in my life, you will be glorified. Please continue to speak to me clearly of the things that you want me to know about regarding specific things that I have been talking to You about. I am ready to listen, remove away and put away for now all the noises that surround that might cloud my hearing of Your voice. Guide me O Lord and You are great. I will praise you with my life. In Jesus' name, amen.
