Wherever, whatever!
But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me." When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her. -Ruth 1:16-18
How many times did we say to a friend, "I will be right with u til the very end!" and was not able to fulfill that promise? Well, probably many of us have tried to be "loyal" or "committed" to someone but end up not. Times like this happen if we allow it. We have the choice to be able to be "committed" and loyal to someone or something. Just like Ruth, we need to stand on our feet and be able to say "I'll go wherever you go" with what we have committed to do. We cant be hypocritical and forget about what we promised the first time. The things and people we committed to deserve all of our effort and loyalty to further the plans prepared and the visions that are present. Because of our faithfulness, God rewards that. Despite the fact that it gets tougher and tougher each time, perseverance comes into play. With our commitment, we need to persevere every trial and hardship that come along the way. They're a part of it. The spices of commitment.
I will commit my entirety to what I am responsible for. In hardships and trials, I will trust that God will give me the ability and the strength to be able to be loyal to my commitment -- home, church, school, and friend and family. I cant wait to be at the end result. I know God has called me to be faithful in everything that I do.
Lord, may you help me in times of "persevering times". May you strengthen me that I may rely on your power and not trust my own abilities and strength that you gave. They are nothing compared to the great power that you have. I will trust in you and be faithful to you. Use me in your kingdom. Amen.
