FIRE
Wk 25 Day 5

Proverbs 6:27-28

27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap
without his clothes being burned?

28 Can a man walk on hot coals
without his feet being scorched?

.. Only fools would not know what this means.
.. Only fools who does not care about the future will do this.
.. Only fools who know not the truth will get themselves into trouble.

As for those who know, fire is dangerous to play around with. What are the "fires" we play around with daily? Those who we know will entangle us back to sin or hold us into a seemingly inescapable situation? (Praise God, 1 Cor. 10:13)

:: Sometimes I forget about this. I sometimes hold myself back and play with little "fires". What are they? There are a few. I need to divert my thinking into other things instead of play with my mind with these little "fires" that I may getting myself into. I need to constantly rely on God's power to guide me through my life journey with Him not allowing the little things to creep in my mind that will make myself play around again. I am new in Christ, I need to put that on all the time!

Lord, thank you for your reminder... and rebuke! I pray that You will continually empower me to only think of the noble things you want me to think about and not things that will make me play with these "fires" that will cause me to return back to my old ways (big and small). Help me to move forward with complete focus on the goal that you have for my call. Use me and keep my thoughts pure and sanctified always. Please protect me and keep me away from the evil schemes. In Jesus' name, amen.

GLORY
Wk 25 Day 4

Psalm 73:24

24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.

Asaph basically distinguishes his feelings when he IS in the presence of God and when he ISN'T. He mentions that he almost slipped (v. 2) for envying the prosperity of the arrogant and the wicked and how he was senseless and ignorant when his heart was grieved and his spirit was embittered (v. 21-22). Yet he also acknowledges that God is the one who guided him through - by the right hand (v. 23). And that God's counsel guides him that then takes him into glory. He then follows up with these verses:

25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
It's true, our flesh and our heart will fail - because we are human beings, yet God remains the strength of our heart and our portion forever if we allow Him.

:: How many times have I failed? C0untless. Yet I know that if I just allow God to work in me through His counsel, he will then take me into glory. What glory? The kind that only the God of heaven can fulfill (eternal life). I'll leave that up to God for the glory He will bring to me in this earth. Right now, I need to be faithful where I am at. Allowing the counsel of God to transform and conform me to the pattern of God's will for His glory!

Faithfulness >> Walking in God's counsel >> Glory of God

Lord, thank you for you remain who you are. I pray that you will help me to be sustained at all times so I may always be faithful to you. I pray that you will give me empowerment to continually renew the right spirit within me that in everything I will do, I will do it for the glory of Your name. Help me to be faithful to You. Just like the Parable of the Sower, help me to just be faithful in what I am called to do, and you will take care of the rest. Thank you God. You are truly powerful. In Jesus' name, amen.

ELIJAH & THE WIDOW
Wk 25 Day 3

1 Kings 17
12 "As surely as the LORD your God lives," she replied, "I don't have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die."

15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. 16 For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the LORD spoken by Elijah.

The Widow
.. was only doing her "usual" - gathering sticks to make meal for herself and her family (v.12)
.. she believed what the Lord said through Elijah (v.14-15) - regardless of her means
.. probably at some point thought that Elijah came to remind her of her sins (v. 18) since her son died
.. later proved that Elijah was a man of God - her son was raised back to life.

Elijah
.. just following God's orders - where and who's gonna feed him; 1st, the ravens (v. 4) then, the widow (v. 9b)
.. he was confident enough to say to the widow impossible things because he was dependent on God's power to work - not his own
.. prayed to God 3x to raise the widow's son back to life - it was granted (v.22)

:: In light of the widow's perspective, I need to learn to completely trust God through the people he has sent to me to share God's insights. Those who have authority over me (and even those who don't - the women never knew Elijah to begin with but believed him anyways). I just trust that God has His ways of giving them the Words of Wisdom from God.

:: God could also use me to be an Elijah to others - someone who will bring the Words of Wisdom from God to those who need it. I must be sensitive to God's voice - through His Word and however He wants to speak to me. I must only abide in what the Word says and in my deepest inner witness that God may speak His still small voice. I will be faithful in doing what God wants me to do regardless when people may believe me (just like the widow in the beginning) or not. As long as I know that I am in line with what God has told me, I know and trust God that He will take care of me.

Lord, thank you for balancing out what You want me to do. I do need to have more faith in believing what the "Elijahs" in my life will tell me to do; and at the same time as I become an "Elijah" to others, help me to be truly faithful to You and what You call me to do. Help me to be sensitive in hearing Your voice and to know which way to go or what path to take in order to accomplish what You want me to do. Thank you for Your goodness and for the constant reminder of Your undying Word. In Jesus' name, amen.

UNINTENTIONALLY GUILTY
Wk 25 Day 2

Leviticus 4:22-23; 27-28
22 " 'When a leader sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the commands of the LORD his God, he is guilty. 23 When he is made aware of the sin he committed, he must bring as his offering a male goat without defect.

27 " 'If a member of the community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the LORD's commands, he is guilty. 28 When he is made aware of the sin he committed, he must bring as his offering for the sin he committed a female goat without defect.

.. Things mentioned here are so specific when it comes to how to get the sins atoned for.
.. This reminds me of an absolute moral law - when a person sins unintentionally, he is guilty no matter what - whether he knew about the law or not. When the person is made aware of the sin (meaning, the person may not have known he sinned and have violated the law), he must then get it atoned for by bringing a sin offering.

.. Regardless whether people know it or not, there is a high moral standard (made by an absolute God) that we must therefore abide.
.. Praise God we don't have to make offerings for the atonement of our sins since Christ has already done that for us. However, we know that even at times when we unintentionally sin against God, we are still guilty - yet praise God, we have been made the righteousness of God through Christ.

APPS:
.. Though our unintentional sins, this then calls for a higher standard of living. To always be intentional in pleasing God. We cannot just unintentionally sin all the time anymore.
.. We must learn and know what pleases and what does not please God and live up to that standard. We must then be innocent of evil and be excellent of what is good (Romans 16:19).
.. There is not a reason to be taking advantage of God's forgiveness. Our call as Christians is to live up to His standards. Let our lives be that light and live a fruitful lifestyle... encouraging one another in love and giving glory to God in everything that we do.

:: I am more than thankful of GOD's grace and forgiveness in my life. I could say that many times I am aware when I am sinning against God. I still am a work in progress and I am still relying on the work of the Holy Spirit in my life; always being cleansed and consecrated as I continue to read His Word. I do not have an excuse not to know what God wants for me for His glory. I need to live up to that. No excuses for not knowing. If I don't know, I must find out. And God will not hold back His wisdom when I ask. I must then be deliberate in only doing what pleases my Master.

Oh Lord, I pray that you will help me to remember this. Forgive me for the time when I have unintentionally and even intentionally displeased and sinned against you. I pray that in everything that I do, that you be pleased. In my thoughts, my heart, and my actions... I pray that You will be exalted. Help me to just always be mindful of what makes you smile with the way the live my life. Thank you for ALL of that you've done. Even my whole life as an offering is not enough. I will just live for you the best that I can. In Jesus' name, amen.

BOLDNESS
Wk 24 Day 7

Luke 11:10, 13b
"For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened... how much more your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

.. Boldness in asking the Father (v. 8)
.. There is a reward to those who boldly come to God and asks, seeks, and knocks.
.. He'll give us what we need according to His will.
.. He promises to give us the Holy Spirit if we ask.
.. If we ask for the Holy Spirit to guide us, He will give Him to us.
.. He will gladly give the HS and not otherwise (v. 11)

Apps:

.. Have I really asked? There are times that I forget how close of a connection I have with God. I have access to Him when I talk to Him. He is not far from me. In fact, He hears everything. Yet, He waits until I myself asks. Knowing that God will open the door for me if I knock; receive if I ask according to His will; find when I seek... then I must do these all the time. The reason why I do not receive, no doors opened, and not find what I seek is cause I still yet haven't asked - John 16:24. I gotta make it a habit to be bold in coming to my Father!

:: Oh Lord, thank you for the opportunity of being your child. May you change me continually to be more like Your Son Jesus. Forgive me for the times that I have not been so abiding with Your Spirit. I pray that you will help me to remember these words of Yours and to not only hear them but to apply them (11:28) just as You said, Jesus. I just lift everything to You. In Jesus' name, amen!
